Cayman Crime Stoppers is an independent charity that allows members of the public to pass on information about crime anonymously, through its website or mobile app. The programme works through three pillars — the police, the media and the public — and tipsters are given a reference number so their tip can be followed up without their identity being known. Cash rewards of up to $50,000 are paid where information leads to an arrest or charge or is otherwise of significant use, including a reward funded by the Cayman Islands Government for information on serious or gun-related offences. The organisation invites support through tips, volunteering and sponsorship.
