About

Formed in 1989, the Cayman Culinary Society (CCS) is an organisation of professional chefs and food and beverage personnel that works to promote the Cayman Islands food and beverage industry. It runs an annual culinary competition and trade show, open to the public, featuring a live cook-off for chef of the year, ice carving and bartender competitions and a gala dinner. The Society selects the Cayman Islands National Culinary Team, which competes in the Caribbean Championships, and it holds fundraising dinners, training seminars for local chefs and sends member chefs to overseas trade shows and media events. CCS is also active in education through lectures and demonstrations at local schools and the University College of the Cayman Islands, and sponsors a Caymanian student for a scholarship.
