About

The Cayman Islands Equestrian Federation (CIEF) is a non-profit, all-volunteer organisation founded in 1997 as the national governing body for equestrian sports in the Cayman Islands. It runs show jumping and dressage competitions and clinics for members, arranges training with visiting professionals from overseas, and supports Cayman's participation in international events such as the Caribbean Equestrian Association challenges. The CIEF also works with the Department of Agriculture, local vets and the government on horse welfare, with a Welfare Officer assisting owners in cases of neglect. It is a member of the FEI (Group IV), the Cayman Islands Olympic Committee, the Caribbean Equestrian Association and the Pan American Equestrian Confederation.
