About

The Cayman Islands Red Cross is a member of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and works to protect human dignity by helping vulnerable people in crisis. Its work includes certified first aid and health and safety training, Darkness to Light training, first aid cover at events, a thrift shop that assists people in need, and hurricane preparedness and disaster response. The organisation is volunteer-based, with around 200 volunteers of whom about 150 are active through the year, all trained to deliver its services, and it recognises them at an annual appreciation ceremony each January. Volunteers and donations are both welcomed.
