About

IRead For Life (Cayman) is a non-profit organisation working to improve literacy in the Cayman Islands. It supports the IRead For Life Center by funding scholarships so that students can attend its tutoring programme. The centre's method is phonetic and multi-sensory, teaching all 44 speech sounds of the English language from the outset to help children decode words, improve reading comprehension, speech clarity, writing and grammar, along with maths tutoring. The programme was developed by founder Vinnette Mae Glidden, M.S., a speech and language pathologist who has worked in Cayman Islands public schools.
