About

Established in 1996, the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands (NGCI) promotes the appreciation and practice of the visual arts of and in the Cayman Islands through exhibitions, artist residencies, education and outreach programmes, and research projects. It holds the National Art Collection and runs classes, family walk-and-talk sessions and other events for schoolchildren, teachers, researchers, artists, seniors and students of all ages. Since 2012 it has operated from a permanent cultural centre on the Esterley Tibbetts Bypass, with exhibition areas, an art studio, library, auditorium and multi-purpose space. NGCI offers membership and runs an online volunteer training series covering NGCI 101, Cayman art history and the Gallery within a Cayman cultural context.
