Plastic Free Cayman was established in 2017 and has held monthly beach cleanups since, removing over 100,000lbs of trash from local beaches. The group works to educate the community about the impacts of plastic pollution, encourage individuals, businesses and government to reduce plastic consumption, and advocate for policies supporting a circular economy. It also sells branded shirts and canvas bags to raise funds and offer an alternative to plastic bags. Anyone can take part by joining one of the monthly cleanups.
