About

Special Olympics Cayman Islands (SOCI) was founded in 1988 and provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a range of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. It serves 175 athletes and 20 Unified Partners with the help of more than 300 coaches and volunteers, and is run by a committee of volunteers. SOCI athletes compete locally and internationally, including at the Special Olympics World Games in Berlin in June 2023, where sixteen Cayman athletes took part. People can get involved as athletes, coaches or event volunteers.
