About

The Breast Cancer Foundation, established in 2009, supports individuals and families in the Cayman Islands affected by breast cancer, and reports assisting over 500 people. Its Wellness Programme provides medical and holistic services, one-on-one counselling, support groups, wigs, prosthetics, bras and cold caps for chemotherapy patients, while the Early Detection Programme offers free mammograms and ultrasounds to those without insurance or the means to pay. An Awareness Programme educates the community on self-examination and early action, and the Foundation also funds specialist training for local practitioners. Funds are raised through community events including the annual Gala Dinner and the Light Up the Night beach walk, and audited financials are published annually.
